Return to the 1st edition of the WeShare Scientific Day

On October 10, the first edition of the WeShare Scientific Day took place, bringing together numerous researchers and professionals at Unicancer’s premises in Le Kremlin-Bicêtre. This inaugural event, rich in exchanges and learning, highlighted the innovations and goals of the WeShare project: accelerating research in human and social sciences as well as in quality of life in oncology. A look back at the event.

A morning dedicated to workshops and collaborative research

The day began with an introduction by Dr. Ines Vaz Luis, oncologist at Gustave Roussy, who presented the characteristics and ambitions of the WeShare project.

The morning continued with several participatory workshops on the following topics:

  • Digital tools and research in quality of life and human and social sciences (QOL/HSS).
  • Research involving a citizen community
  • Inclusive research and digital tools

An afternoon focused on co-creation and innovation

After the morning workshop feedback, the afternoon took on an international and inspiring dimension with engaging lectures:

Prof. Marie-Pascale Pomey, physician and professor of public health at the University of Montreal, explored the theme of co-creation, emphasizing the importance of including patients and mobilizing research communities to transform scientific research.

Prof. Paul Harris, professor of biomedical informatics and biomedical engineering at VUMC in the United States, addressed the challenges of decentralized research as a crucial issue for the future of science.

Practical and concrete presentations

The WeShare team then illustrated the services and benefits of the platform through concrete use cases, enabling participants to better understand the tools available to them. A session was also dedicated to regulatory aspects, with a key focus on compliance with personal data protection rules (GDPR).

A forward-looking conclusion

Dr. Ines Vaz Luis closed the day by reminding everyone of the importance of collaboration in meeting the scientific challenges of tomorrow. This 1st WeShare Scientific Day paved the way for new perspectives and laid the foundation for more inclusive, connected, and innovative research.

We look forward to seeing you at the next editions and remain committed to sharing, collaborating, and innovating together!
